Weston Newton has represented Beaufort and Jasper counties in the South Carolina House of Representatives since 2013. An attorney and longtime Lowcountry resident, Weston serves as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, one of the House’s key committees responsible for legislation impacting public safety, law enforcement, the courts and constitutional issues. Weston also served as Chairman of Beaufort County Council from 2002 to 2012.

Throughout his service, Weston has built a record of conservative leadership focused on lowering taxes, improving roads and infrastructure, supporting law enforcement, strengthening our judicial system, and protecting the quality of life that makes the Lowcountry special. Weston continues to champion transparency and accountability at all levels government. Above all, he works to make sure Beaufort and Jasper counties have a strong, conservative voice in Columbia, to protect our quality of life, ensuring we receive the resources we need as our region continues to grow.

Keep more money in the pockets of South Carolina families by continuing to cut income and property taxes, controlling government spending and demanding accountability for every taxpayer dollar.

2. Better Roads & Protecting Our Lowcountry Quality of Life
Fight for Beaufort and Jasper counties to receive their fair share of state funding for roads, bridges and infrastructure. As the Lowcountry grows, Weston is focused on easing traffic, planning responsibly for future growth and protecting and preserving our natural resources and the quality of life that makes our communities special.

3. Safe Communities, Strong Law Enforcement & Accountable Courts
Back law enforcement and first responders, strengthen South Carolina’s criminal justice system and make sure violent and repeat offenders are held accountable. As Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Weston is working to give law enforcement the tools they need, close loopholes in state law and make our courts more effective and accountable.
